Step 1 - CONNECT: Start the Conversation

Every successful project start with a little information. First, fill out our contact form and share the basics about your project, location, timeline, and goals. You may also upload photos of your existing space and inspiration photos so we can better understand your vision from the start. Once the form is submitted, you will be directed to our discovery call booking system to schedule a time that works for you. This helps us review your project details before the call and make better use of your time.
Step 2 - DISCOVERY CALL: Let's Talk Details
Discuss Your Goals and Vision
Your Discovery Call is where ideas start taking shape. We’ll talk through your project goals, what’s driving your vision, and the outcome you want to achieve, your preferred timeline, general investment range, and any photos or inspiration you shared through the contact form. This is also when we’ll discuss how our Design + Build process can best support your needs.
This conversation also helps us both determine if we’re a good fit for one another — ensuring your project aligns with our process, values, and commitment to quality before moving forward.

Step 3 - PLAN: proposal + project review

Once we’ve both determined we’re a great fit after the Discovery Call, we’ll take the next step toward shaping your project plan. When applicable, you’ll receive a link to use Rendr — our digital tool that lets you capture your space using an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro equipped with LiDAR technology. This helps us better understand your home and layout before scheduling an on-site visit.
If Rendr isn’t compatible with your device, no worries — we’ll guide you through other easy ways to share your space details and photos.
By reviewing your Rendr capture or alternate project information, we can provide a more accurate range estimate and ensure your budget expectations align before moving forward with the proposal phase.
GETTING YOUR PLAN IN MOTION
- Capture or Share Your Space: Use Rendr when available, or upload your existing photos and notes directly to us.
- Review Your Project Details: We’ll evaluate measurements, photos, and existing conditions to identify opportunities and constraints.
- Discuss Budget and Expectations: We’ll refine your project scope and confirm that your investment range aligns with your goals.
- Prepare for the On-Site Visit: If you feel we’re a good fit and the budget is in alignment, you’ll receive a link to book your on-site consultation and confirm your spot on our calendar. By this point, we’ll have either reviewed the photos you’ve already shared — or we’ll guide you in sending additional photos or details as needed. This ensures your in-home meeting is focused, productive, and tailored to your project.
STEP 4 - MEET: ON-SITE CONSULTATION
EXPLORE YOUR SPACE IN PERSON
Your on-site consultation is a 60- to 90-minute working meeting at your home where we walk the space together, take key measurements, and discuss the details that will shape your design and proposal. This visit allows us to see the possibilities firsthand, confirm existing conditions, and understand how you use your space day-to-day.
Our goal is to collaborate with you in real time — answering questions, sharing ideas, and ensuring the direction of your project feels right before finalizing your proposal.
What to expect during your visit
- Walk the Space: We’ll review every area of your project, noting layout, functionality, and existing conditions.
- Verify Measurements: Accurate dimensions help us prepare a detailed, reliable proposal.
- Refine Design Details: We’ll discuss finishes, materials, style preferences, and project priorities.
- Review Next Steps: We’ll outline what happens after the consultation, including when to expect your formal proposal.
STEP 5 - APPROVE: DESIGN + BUILD PROPOSAL
Review, refine, and approve your project plan with clarity and confidence
After your on-site consultation, we’ll prepare and present your detailed Design + Build proposal. Together, we’ll review the project scope, design direction, materials, preliminary investment range, and next steps.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss options, and make refinements before moving forward.
Once the proposal feels right, you’ll sign a Design Agreement to officially begin the planning phase. This agreement covers design development, selections, and material sourcing — as well as the work involved in building your project plan inside JobTread, our project management platform.
WHAT TO EXPECT at this stage
- Review the Full Proposal: Scope, design direction, materials, and budget presented.
- Ask Questions & Refine: Adjust selections or scope as needed before signing the agreement.
- Sign the Design Agreement: Authorize us to begin design development, selections and planning.
- Submit Your Design Fee: This covers the time, planning and system setup needed to prepare your detailed construction proposal.
STEP 6 - SELECT: DESIGN + SELECTIONS PHASE
Turning your vision into a build-ready plan
During the Design + Selections Phase, we refine the details that bring your project to life. This is where design direction, materials, finishes, fixtures, layouts, and project specifications are reviewed, selected, and organized so your construction plan can be priced accurately and managed efficiently.
This phase helps reduce guesswork before construction begins by clarifying what is being built, what materials are being used, and how the project will come together.
Your project will now be fully entered into JobTread, our project management platform, where you’ll have access to your design selections, documents, and communication all in one place. This organized system ensures transparency, accuracy, and easy collaboration throughout the process.
WHAT happens DURING THIS PHASE
- Refine the Design Direction: We review layouts, design goals, finishes, and functional priorities.
- Make Selections: We gather pricing, availability, allowances, specifications, and project details are organized inside JobTread, our project management platform.
- Refine the Budget: Confirm pricing as selections and design details are finalized.
- Approve the Final Plan: Once everything is confirmed, we’ll prepare your final construction agreement.
- Prepare Final Pricing: Once the design and selections are developed, we prepare the final construction proposal for review.
STEP 7 - PREPARE: PRE-CONSTRUCTION PLANNING & PERMITTING
Getting everything ready before construction begins
Before construction starts, we move into the pre-construction planning phase. This is where we coordinate the details needed to prepare your project for a smooth build, including permits, scheduling, material lead times, trade partner coordination, and final project logistics.
This phase helps reduce delays, surprises, and confusion once construction begins. By confirming the details ahead of time, we can better protect your timeline, budget, and overall project experience.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THIS PHASE
- Finalize Project Details: We review the approved scope, selections, drawings, and specifications before construction begins.
- Coordinate Permitting: If permits are required, we help coordinate the permitting process with the appropriate local office.
- Order Materials: Approved materials and finishes are ordered based on availability, lead times, and the construction schedule.
- Schedule Trade Partners: We coordinate the subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, and major phases of work.
- Build the Construction Schedule: We organize the major phases of work inside JobTread so you know what to expect and when.
- Prepare the Jobsite: We review access, parking, protection of existing areas, jobsite expectations, and communication procedures.
Once pre-construction planning is complete, your project moves into the construction phase. At that point, permits, materials, schedule, trade partners, and project details are aligned so work can begin with a clear plan in place.
STEP 8 - BUILD: CONSTRUCTION PHASE

With your design finalized, pre-construction planning complete, and construction agreement signed, it’s time to bring your project to life. During this phase, our team and trade partners work from the approved scope, selections, schedule, and project details organized during the planning process.
Your dedicated project team manages the day-to-day construction details while keeping communication open and progress transparent through JobTread, where you can track updates, view progress photos, and stay informed every step of the way.

- Construction Begins: Our team and trade partners begin work based on the approved plan, schedule, and scope of work.
- Coordinate the Work: We manage daily progress, trade sequencing, deliveries, and jobsite coordination.
- Protect Your Home: We take steps to maintain a clean, respectful job site and protect existing areas as much as possible.
- Track Progress in JobTread: Follow updates, messages, documents, and progress photos in one organized place.
- Manage Changes Carefully: If changes are needed, we document the details, pricing, and approvals before moving forward.
- Monitor Quality: We review progress throughout the build to help ensure the work aligns with the approved plan and our standards.
STEP 9 - COMPLETE: PROJECT DELIVERY + CARE

As construction wraps up, we’ll walk through your completed project together to ensure every detail meets our shared expectations. During this walkthrough, we’ll create a final punch list, confirm that all work is complete, and review the systems, finishes, and maintenance details that will help protect your investment.
We’ll also review any applicable warranties and discuss our post-project support — because while your project may be complete, our relationship doesn’t end there.
